Requirements and offline use

Onekept requires an iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Model-written text also requires Apple Intelligence, a supported language and prepared resources. iOS may download speech assets the first time you use a language. Once prepared, journal processing runs locally. A basic local result is used when the model cannot answer.

A simpler reflection or summary

Open Settings → Reflections → Diagnostics to check model availability and the last reflection result. Summaries show when they use a basic result. Buying Complete access does not make an incompatible iPhone support Apple Intelligence.

Keep a copy

Settings → Export shares entries or summaries as text or Markdown. Settings → Archive writes a different format: a folder containing manifest.json and audio files. Current writes can restore entries, reflections, audio and saved summaries. An older folder without summaries still restores and does not invent reviews. A text export cannot be imported as a restorable archive.

Move the archive out of the Onekept folder to keep an independent copy. Deleting the app can remove the folder stored inside it.

Storage or recovery warning

Do not delete the app or its files to clear a warning. Keep any independent archive you already have and contact support. A recovery warning is not confirmation that every recording has been recovered. We have no remote copy of your journal.

Permissions

Reading, searching and exporting your journal do not require the microphone. Recording asks for microphone access when you start a capture. On-device transcription does not need the separate Speech Recognition permission. Revoking microphone access does not hide the library.

Recording and reminders

Recording pauses when the app enters the background. Return to continue or save. The weekly reminder opens Summaries; generation happens in the app and may need time or fall back to a basic result.

Language

Settings → Language has separate choices for the app interface and your journaling language. Choose the language you speak explicitly if the result uses the wrong language.

Lock and removal

The optional Face ID lock uses your device authentication. Siri also requires local authentication before reading a saved summary. Delete everything removes saved entries and summaries, the app's recovery record and recordings it owns. It does not remove archive folders you already wrote, copies in Files or backups managed by iOS. Do not assume a failed deletion succeeded.

Purchases

Onekept is a free download. Complete access adds new Prayer and Idea entries, developed reflections, continuing finished entries, and summaries, as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription or a one-time purchase with the same features. Prices and terms appear before you buy. To restore a purchase, open Settings → Complete access → Restore purchases. To change or cancel a subscription, use Manage subscriptions on the same screen or your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. There is no Onekept account, so we cannot see your purchases; you never need to send us receipts or journal content.
